Facilitated the installation of more than 100 solar panels onto a company building, saving CO2, and demonstrating the Council’s intention to become more sustainable.

Objective: Reduce CO2 from the Council’s Energy footprint.

Description: Enabled solar panels to be installed on a corporate building from capital budget. This led to a significant reduction in the building’s energy cost, reduction in carbon emmissions and the ability to sell unused energy back to the energy grid, with the aim to install solar on all possible corporate buildings in the future.

Achieved: 40kwh of solar installed, reducing overall energy costs and showcasing a practical model for reducing carbon and saving money and using local contractors.
