Cultural Change Impact
Challenged the competitive nature of department working to bring about a more collaborative and cohesive approach to working together through workshops, to increase collaboration and enable operational sustainable practice.
Objective: Introduce the Council to sustainable best practice and bring it to life for everyone.
Description: Using a mix of management, stakeholder, people, and emotional intelligence skills, introduced dialogue around sustainability, what it meant strategically, commercially, and internally.
As part of a project leadership team, challenged the competitive nature of department working to bring about a more collaborative and cohesive approach to working together through facilitated and questioning sessions. This brought about shared ownership for certain problems and broke down silo working.
Encouraged/nudged many departments (Supply Chain, Environment, Technical Services, Planning, et al) to challenge and disrupt the cultural norms by bringing innovative suggestions and sustainability best practice to the fore.
Using matrix management, created cross organisational teams to help deliver new sustainable initiatives and activities.
Achieved: Changed the conversation about sustainability, increased buy in for action and supported those already engaged on sustainability to achieve more and be braver.
